That's not Ufotable, that's Wit.
You can tell because Wit doesn't overload the scenes with blurring and particles.

>The top is clearly better because it isn't assaulting you with 10,000 pleas of "please praise the animation when you talk about this show" per frame.
It's the climax of a pivotal character moment, one that falls flat in the original as it treats the material purely comedically, and one that resonates like the manga in the new anime, due in part to its animation, but also because the new anime has far BETTER storyboarding and direction.
I actually do love the original Yaiba anime a lot, it's a really good time and a really fun comedy anime, but it cannot do the more dramatic aspects of Yaiba that well at all (outside of the leadup to Kaguya's revival, very good character drama leading into a very good reveal). Thankfully most of what it adapts has a lot of comedy, but again, the new anime does Yaiba's material far better. It's better directed, better storyboarded, and the animation is just good. This meme of hating ALL animation simply to be contrarian is so fucking dumb because what is BAD about Ufotable's work is how it clutters the scene and ruins the purity of its animation in pursuit of pretty visuals.
Yaiba's new anime is still using MANY classic Dezaki-era techniques. It's animated in the *anime* way.
