Would you not agree that this behavior by "the left" has generally been successful in achieving its intended goal? Why would we not therefore use it to achieve our goals? A pointless and one-sided commitment to "fairness" or "taking the high road" just leads to inefficacy. No one will pat you on the back for "not being like the left".
