anon listen, I do this and I'm a guy so I'm not sure if it will work the same. I have been deeply in love with a girl who lives across the country from me and who barely replies to my messages. I have tried to distance myself from her since I slowly started to observe my behavior and became slowly disgusted by it. It's okay to fall in love but being this obsessed with someone to the point it feels like a drug will mean that you will end up driving away that person. Take this as a precautionary tale from someone who's done it two times and it has gone the same way. I always get blocked or realize I've made up an image of them in my mind so far away from who they really are they actively start to hate me. Do anything you can to get rid of the feelings before it's too late.
