He is a great character, I like him a lot. When I played SH1 for the first time I didn't really care for him. But by the end of my first playthrough of SH3 my whole view of him was totally changed. I like that all of those details about his character are lowkey, I think it suits him because I imagine he is quite a private and inward-focused guy, mostly interested in just doing a good job raising his daughter but keeps things to himself.
