I was never too keen on the whole "You MUST be doing something special/going away somewhere during summer" mentality for reasons i mention right above. After all, vacation is doing whatever the hell you want, worry and obligation free. So if you have fun no matter what you do, its good vacation. One thing i do recommend is avoiding anything that will have you in direct sunlight or dealing with this massive heat. I know its inevitable during summer but i'd be damned if i said that going around places while getting roasted is any fun.

I can see that, even though im not a morning person i do appreciate the feel you get from the crack of dawn, truly feels like a fresh start.

Again, so long as you spend your time the ways you want, its time well spend so dont worry too much about it.
