Emulate the PSP version (or play it on an actual PSP if you have one)
It's way faster, the translation isn't a meme, and it has a lot of QOL features not in the original.

The PSP version is okay, but they lowered the difficulty and made the battle system really slow. I've never played the PSX version with the fan translation but it's probably fine too.

Generally better feature-wise than the PSX version, and it has some extra optional content.
