Same thing that happened to cars- optimisation and gentrification. We all remember cool cars from the 80s-90s, but now, 30 years later, a baisic family sedan has more power than these. A V6 Camry will easily outrun a Countach, a Tesla will demolish any of the JDM heroes, they aren't cool, they are just better at being cars than any of the cool old guard that we remember.
