If it's slow I eyetrack every note until it hits the zone which usually results in bad timing

When it is fast enough I'm just memorizing the notes and their order and hitting them to the rhythm (which is way better)

Now that I think about it upscroll might be more intuitive since it'd be like reading a text. With downscroll I have to invert it in my mind. I'll try upscroll.
