Baseplates go such a long way in being able to represent natural biomes, my favorite kind of set. I get phasing out raised baseplates because despite how good they look I hate how flimsy they are but if they actually end up phasing out normal ones for good like they seem to be trying to then Lego is dead to me and I'll fully making the jump to 3rd parties
