Well it didnt help that the christians i grew up with described God like an all knowing superhero. It was very "man in the clouds"-y. Ut was retarded and gay. Made platonism, gnosticism, and hermeticism really attractive at first because they seemed to promote a more reasonable world view. Then i found out that my view of christianity (in it's best form) was a strawman.
