What do you like about your society and the economy so much that it makes you want to sacrifice your passions and talent and devote the vast majority of the limited hours you have on this earth to it?
I know it's not for opulence because you're never going to be rich dragging yourself into a job you hate every day.
I know it's not for subsistence because you can get that on government gibs these days
