Nah, I've done every physically demanding type of job you can imagine. The watch band on my old watch would become drenched from sweat while i worked and then gummy from dirt plus sweat. And a silver plated watch is ridiculous if you're working outside because it'll draw heat and become hot on your wrist. If you like man jewelry that's alri but don't pretend like you're doing any real work wearing that thing.
