AIs hallucinate, anon... Furthermore, color is not the same as color identity. "Color identity" is a deckbuilding constraint for EDH, and yes the basics have color identity, but this has no effect in-game. "Color" is a game mechanic and is based around the mana cost of the permanant, or special markers/effects. Kenrith is the color white, for example, but has the color identity for all five colors (because of his activated abilities). A creature having protection from green would not stop Kenrith from targeting it with his +1/+1 counter ability, because Kenrith is not green.
