He did have the classic "cute mascot" design. Might've made a nice huggable plush toy for kids, even if bugs aren't traditionally "cute", if Disney were smarter at marketing and merch.
Or more likely Sonic or Cars-coded, with the double-pupiled-mono-eyeball, creeped kids out.
At least he got someone who loves him. Probably a successful, responsible father too, to be able to support a family that large, and allow his wife to pursue her passions too.
