I've always been a fan of Bold: Italics+Underline; Normal, as well as eliminating the HOPT clause. Doing those would massively help in readability. That, and taking newlines when possible.
The current issue I find with TCG text is that its trying to convey as much as possible through the most miss-able ways possible.
Pic related is an example of Spright Elf with my revamped text
>Bold+italics for Condition "Effects", like "Cannot be used as Link Material the turn it is Link Summoned."
>Numbered effects
>Bold for Conditions within effects, like "During the Main Phase (Quick Effect)"
>Italics and Underline for costs to better draw attention to them
>Effects are written as normal
>"You can only use this effect of "Spright Elf" once per turn." is converted to a [1/TURN] tag and placed on the effect itself. [1/TURN] from this point on means "You can only use this effect of "Insert Card Name Here" once per turn."
>Slight effect rewriting to save space. That whole instead section was too long for what it was saying
