This is kind of a weird one, since it's just run of the mill bad.
>Be late 90's into mid 2000s
>Have best friend, later roommate
>From 1999 on we are kino attendee autistics
>We go to 2-3 movies per week, in addition to our weekly 5-10 rentals and purchases
>Beginning of the month buy local film magazine and go to the back for the release dates and begin circling selections
>Get to one week and confused. There is "nothing" on. No interesting new releases at the cinema or video store. Art house isn't even playing any revival film worth watching
>Most promising of the bunch was pic rel
>It was boring and bad
>Sat in the theater angry that I had been robbed of kino. Angry that they didn't spread release dates out. Dumbfounded as to how you could have One. Whole. Week. Without at least one 8/10 film released
It seems ridiculous now, when you get entire years with nothing over a 6/10, but at the time it was an affront. We were used to seeing shit like American Beauty, Blair Witch and Magnolia on the same day. Now...we have only Hollywood Homicide.
