Sparky. What is Volcanix's arc in your project, if he has any?
From my perspective, the W*nd and the M*untain would logically have opposite arcs to their development. Knuckles is focused on one goal, one path, one dream, and his villain would logically reflect that in all the worst possible ways by being obsessed, willing to sacrifice everyone around him to achieve his goal. In contrast, Sonic would be the opposite; he is goalless, purposeless, dreamless, and will ruin the path to a goal on a whim.
Now, I already know how to make an arc for Sonic. It's easy to think up of a story where you need to compromise to reach a solution, but I have trouble thinking of one where you need to NOT compromise to fix the problem. I don't want to be cheap and go full "Power of friendship", although that is a part of it, I think it should come more as a product of some other realization.
Since you don't think Knuckles is the moral paragon like Sonic, you probably have an arc for him, right?
