Like bro, you can't gauge that by pulling out a random guy. There are steps to how a lore and a story is written into the games. The obvious step would be familiarizing yourself with the source material to then consult it with more people than only your own opinion.

Let's take a look at Colosseum since they are the only viable example of a case where someone with no prior knowledge of working with Pokemon titles got pulled up to work on one. They took their time to learn about it while working with a certain motif with the limited freedom they had for making a home console title.

The best result you would get from inserting any guy you drag into Pokemon is some repeated story beats but that's it, the core would still stay in tact.
