I don't think that there's any ground for this theory because they specifically have referred to the figure who Deus Ex Machinas at the end of S1 "mom". I always presume that the live-action figure was God herself, their mother, but that required a reach on my part. After seeing Scanty & Kneesocks refer to the King of Hell as "father" then I'm pretty certain that God is P&S's (and presumably all angels') mother which I think rules them out as just being humans who died and went to heaven.

Despite everything these last 15 years I'm so glad my biggest cope came to reality. The passion to keep this series alive even if it took this long is a tear jerker. Watching the episode live got me feeling sentimental, not enough to cry of course but enough to feel good about this series coming back and (hopefully) in a relatively good state if first episode impressions are to go by.
