Anyone else a bit confused how so many of the people afford iPhones here?
AFAIK most service workers earn like 500 baht or $15 a day yet it is fairly common to see grab drivers or similar with modern iPhones. Obviously I understand that it is technically affordable but the rates at which poor people own them here is just a lot higher than I was expecting.
Similar story with the cars, lots of if not most the grabs are modern cars which would fit perfectly into the UK. Just seems strange if the average person is earning a few dollars an hour.
