The story was based on a D&D campaign, what were you expecting? But yeah, the story gets boring around the same time the animation progressively gets worse. The fight between the dragons near the end (pic related) is literally just two static images roaring at each other. People on Twitter who watched the same nitpicked clips sure LOVE the OVAs though.
