What's also funny is that, originally, Anakin's turn was far more politically motivated, and it was more about his loyalty to Palpatine. Originally, he was there at the Chancellor's office, when Mace & Co. came to arrest him. Then Lucas did a test screening, and the audiences they got were completely confused why Anakin would turn. So Lucas made tons of reshoots at the 11th hour, and made Anakin's turn be ALL ABOUT PADME. Everything at the Chancellor's office was reshot, although there are bits and pieces of the original sequence in there, you can see Palpatine having Anakin's lightsaber in some of the shots. That's why Lucas also added the scene where Anakin was alone crying at the Council's chamber. Remnants of the original motivation are still in the movie, but they make no fucking sense and are completely irrelevant, when his entire turn was changed to be all about Padme.
