Yeah, Michiru has definitely grown from her initial appearance into a fully fleshed out character and a core part of the cast. And it might be bias but I think she is the closest thing to a proper love interest for Miko in a series where romance is clearly not a big part. I'd even ague that the fakeout of the latest chapter only works because of Michiru's presence.
