Generally guys are more attracted by cutsey wholesome romance while women, especially fujos, love conflict and drama in their romance, especially in Japan. It’s why violent rivalries often become popular yaoi ships in Japanese fanbases. If you look up しずまり and scroll down pixiv and xitter it’s clear most of the stuff were made by women who’ve mainly drawn yaoi, and a lot of the comics and artworks are just your abusive tropes except they’re cute girls instead of well toned dudes.
