M+ was in a crisis a few months ago and it was so bad Blizzard was legitimately asking people if they wanted the timer removed. Basically changing the core gameplay of the mode bad.
Instead what happened was a shitty bandaid fix, the usual sperg voices decrying everything is fine, and it all went back to "normal" while casuals continued to drop like flies out of the mode (and subsequent endgame because like 60% of WoW is built on the mode at this point).
I don't know if it's Ion or the entire department, but the game is a total slogfest.
