That's sort of what I mean. They're atheists in the sense that they don't worship their equivalent of gods. They willingly choose not to do so.
>If you are in a world where all sort of superpowers exist, the line between "powerful entity to respect" and "god to worship" is very subjective.
To a degree, sure, but we see a very clear difference between what a Resonator can do, what Threnodians are capable of, and what the Sentinels are capable of. It's like escalating levels of power differences and the Sentinels are clearly a level above everything else and actively able to intervene in reality-altering actions. I guess you could argue from what we know of Imperator it's not as physics-breaking as Jue is and seemed more "Normal" in a sense so it makes less sense to worship it in comparison.
>Which, as it turns out, they are completly correct about and closer to the Sentinels actual wishes for how they want to relate to humanity than the Order.
Right, both Jue and Imperator were basically vanguards for humanity and were simply there alongside them as helpers to build up society as we know it while potentially running tests with each society to find ways to counter the Waveworn Phenomenon. It just seems like from the way they act, function, and cause things to happen it would very quickly turn into people worshiping them as godlike beings, not thinking they are their friends.

That's actually a very fair point and I'm glad you brought it up since it wasn't really an angle I was thinking of it from. If I view it from an Asian perspective they're more like strong beings that are forces of nature but still fallible rather than infallible beings. I guess that was overshadowing my perspective. Thanks man.
