>coworker tells me fuji is a good brand
>decide it must be a fuji bike because japan=good (fujis havent been made in japan since 1998)
>somehow decide it needs to be a fixed gear???
>bike shop says currently no stock
>find one secondhand for 1/10 of the price, about 150 USD including shipping

>old as fuck, maybe 15 years old at this point but looks awesome
>go back to the bike shop
>clerk checks it out, says need to replace the front tire/tube, brake cables, brake pads, something something the fork bearing is loose? idk
>total comes to about 250USD
>total cost so far- about 400 USD
i have been riding this thing literally everyday to work and back, and whenever i have free time and its a fucking blast. i love it. riding bikes kicks ass. i havent had the repairs done yet but i did buy some chain cleaner and lube for some easy maintenance. my question is, was it worth spending money on this ancient bike, and 2, should i bother getting drop bars or bullhorn/pursuit bars? will my experience improve dramatically over the regular handlebars i have now?
