I don't mind bad endings so I'm not quite with you there, but I feel this way about romance
Real life relationships are about having to read subtle emotional cues and your partner's thoughts to please them without hurting their pride and getting yelled at when you're not good enough to pull this off, and having to present your best self for the first few months/years/forever to fulfill your gender role, and all sorts of other things that can be a chore more than a pleasure, all just to procreate and have someone take care of you when you're old...
But it's nice to fantasize about people who are genuinely happy together, are on the same wavelength, and can always stick by each other's side and if there are any issues they can talk things out like adults and resign to be better. People say stuff like this is boring and fictional relationships need to have le juicy drama and misery and characters acting impulsive and emotional towards each other, but if we live in shit and all we fantasize about is shit, we're basically renouncing our possibility of being anything but perpetual shit-dwelling shit-eaters.
Also honestly I often find characters acting impulsive less interesting than characters acting reasonable, because the former is a cheap shorthand for conflict so it's much more generic and widespread in stories when you think about it.
Admittedly, not every "happy relationship" makes me feel things, Sans and Toriel don't make me feel anything. I guess it depends on if I care enough about the characters to begin with, but I will never say "this relationship would be better if these two got into a fight and then cried themselves to sleep hating the state they're in but knowing there's no one else for them" or some other corny YA romance shit like that
