Those people are dumb fuckers because Unicorn WAS a waste of time AND meaningless since thats how Universal Century Gundam media is supposed to be. That whatever the heroes accomplish is small shit compared to how humanity actually is.
Despite all how much Amuro said he wanted to protect peoples right to choose,in the end they chose the most vile self gratifying options. Some of which even affected his own life that you can see in Zeta. You can have all the moral rightiousness you want and beat the "bad guy" but its not gonna ever stop those bad guys rising to power and creating or maintaining a festering wound.
