It's not a difficult equation to solve if you've payed any attention whatsoever to trends. All the most popular and successful multiplayer games are played in a team format. If you want more people to play fighting games, you need more tag games where each character is controlled by a different player. Likewise: if you want more views on your fighting game channel, it helps tremendously to play fighting games with a team component. It's a fucking crime against the genre that Bamco broke and haven't fixed the Raid Mode in DB FighterZ because that game mode was pulling YouTube viewership like nothing else in this genre ever has or ever will.
The people raised their arms and cheered by the millions but none of the other devs listened. They're too fixated on the one player vs one player format to experiment with team formats and PvE experiences that would actually drive new player engagement.
