In my case I stated XC1 in 23? Got to Satorl Marsh then took like 4 months off. Started up again, binged it. Binged NG+ and then moved on to other games. Beginning of this year I had an itch for another adventure JRPG. The only things I knew about XC2 going in were JAPANESE HUMOR, the porn, Smash Bros, and that gatch exists. So I popped into a random Xenoblade thread and asked if XC2 was worth the effort or if it was the black sheep that should be ignored. And an anon convinced me to just jump in. I've played it non stop since. I'm definitely going to do at least one NG+ run but the funny thing is I took no breaks since starting XC2
