I never paid any attention to Team Ninja until Nioh. The Ninja Gaiden games have always looked repetitive to play. Just waves and waves of the same enemies. At the time I was into God of War because of the setting and variety. For all the shit they get, at least they're not boring, and the puzzle sections are a nice bit of downtime before a boss or more enemies.
