You know, when I first played through the new Chapters I hated Kris at first for being a traitor, like some of you guys were talking about last thread. But since then I've slowly accepted that they're just stuck between a rock and a hard place. Kris was probably part of the keikaku for a long time before the events of the game, and even though they're having the time of their lives with their friends, they have to balance that with the obligations they have to whoever's on the other side of the phone. I just hope we can find a way to get Kris to see the light and fully trust their friends.

This is correct. I believe the prophecy will hinge on whether Kris can be convinced to get over their guilt or not. If they succeed, then we'll be able to successfully defy the prophecy and have things end in our favor. Just look at how the secret bosses affect Kris and the gang:
>Jevil has the least effect on the group, but he opens them up to the idea of finding freedom
>Spamton is a direct parallel to Kris, a puppet led astray by a voice on the phone
>Ramb does what he does all for the sake of allowing Kris to find a way to achieve freedom
>Gerson encourages Susie to carve her own destiny and defy the prophecy
In the end, I don't think it'll be the Shadow Crystals that cause the Fun Gang to break from their scripted roles, but the experiences that they went through to get said crystals in the first place.
