Making Ray the killer in the new one felt really unearned. Also the dialogue/writing was really bad. Cline's character who was SMG 2.0 was the best part.

Saw the new I Know What You Did Last Summer. Tried so hard to be like the new Scream legacy sequels but didn't work at all. Nothing felt earned, killer reveal was lame. A couple good kills and I always dug the look of the Fisherman but there isn't enough there to justify a sequel like this or tease another.

Cline's character was the only even remotely enjoyable new character because she was basically SMG's characer 2.0, everyone else's dialogue and writing was atrocious.
