Unlike manga which is usually done by one person, and on rare occasions by two (an artist and a writer), with assistants doing minor things like screentones and backgrounds... comics operate on a factory style pipeline with sometimes over 10 people working on a single comic. And none of them have any communication with eachother, or atleast very little.

The person who does the lines has no idea what the inker is going to do, the inker has no idea what the colorist is going to do. And often their visions are completely mismatched, such as an inker that wants a cartoony bold lines vibe, but a colorist that wants a gritty well rendered realistic vibe, and they'll work against eachother, producing a confused mess of a comic
