Stormblood had retarded writing, but it was still ENTERTAINING. Zenos being a fighting autist is entertaining. Seeing political conflicts in not-Japan is entertaining. Yotsuyu being a hot and excessively melodramatic villain is entertaining. Lyse being a hot bimbo who isn't qualified at all for her position is still entertaining. Almost all of it was stupid, but it was fun, like how an action movie is fun even though the plot makes little sense.
Having the entire main culture of your expansion boiled down to tacos and friendship is not entertaining. Seeing a gigantic cyberspace city and everyone, including the SCHOLAR SCIONS, not even batting an eye at it is not entertaining. Putting an extreme hyperfocus on an unlikeable, ugly character who doesn't deserve credit for anything is not entertaining. Actively sabotaging any sense of wonder and mystery in an expansion about the New World is not fucking entertaining. It's stupid AND it's not fun.
