They introduced the concept of the gods and Sun God, the people worshipped the sun god, a man claiming to be God was about to destroy everything and Luffy showed up and fought him, everyone was praying for God to save them, and he literally cleared up the darkness and brought the light out with a giant golden ball (sun metaphor) on his hand before striking down the false god and ringing the bell which was "the light of Shandoria". If that wasn't spelling it out for you enough the arc literally ended with Nika doing the exact same silhouette pose as the Sun God.
