If his final action wasn't proof enough, there are plenty of documented examples of Goebbels privately expressing the highest admiration for 20 years. He knew Hitler was going to be the man before nearly anyone else. He wasn't interested in building a fiefdom like Goring or Himmler or all the others, he was a true believer.
