Human brains seek stimulation all the time, it sounds like you are a light sleeper as your physical body is louder than your mind. While there is nothing wrong with that, it does make it harder to feel grounded in a dream when your body is instinctually responding to physical stimuli such as consumed food, alcohol, caffeine, and cannabis as well as light exposure and physical discomfort such as overheating and unrelaxed posture. Dreams are loosely recreating various experiences and anxieties that you recall from your life, for that reason alone it's worth trying to document and understand. Usually a dream journal is kept by writing every positive and negative thing that happened but only after waking up in the morning rather than after being woken up by instinctual responses from poor sleep hygiene. Dreams are difficult to remember after the fact, that's why keeping a journal makes them easier to recall, address, and even revisit.
All that said, you can always cheat and smoke DMT. That will put you in a lucid dreamlike state right away while you're awake, which can be dangerous if you're not in a good environment for it. All people who use psychedelics will agree, mindset and comfortable environment will ensure a good trip much like how having good sleep hygiene will result in more lucid dreams.
