Talk me into or out of getting into motorcycles.

I'm a 24yo guy and I just want a cafe racer for the looks. I drive a 2018 yaris and I know literally nothing about motorcycles other than the fact they look cool. I was thinking of getting a used jap motorcycle to get me started, and I only plan on using it for commuting.
