just a quick look online, there are no hackathons near me at all. Basically all of them seem to be online.

I try to do projects on my own to boost my resume (I have several cool ideas) but then I just get too depressed and get put in the psych ward or I fall victim to feature creep and never finish or I have another catatonic episode and get hospitalized or whatever. There's always something :(
