The one new thing I heard from last thread was the idea that Asgore could have a greater defense since neither of them knew how the humans beat the Charasriel fusion. Taking one soul and going out is risky, while waiting for 7 to be a "GOD" may seem like a coward's way out, it's also the least risk averse option since they don't know how strong humans actually are (or that Charasriel held back when they were confronted).
