weird events popping off in shitlaris
anyways
starting to think i ended up picking the right casus belli afterall when i annexed the one-planet FTL empire run by "very strong" plantoid beasts "sidimatus" of the planet "Xu Nur III"
they are my slaves, yes
they are my battle thralls, yes
i forbade them from colonizing and migrating, yes
however, i chose to also forbid them from breeding
i was not expecting many of my people to instantly move into this planet, nor was i aware that these slaves wouldn't be allowed to work in specialist/"middle-class" jobs
i wanted to make it so that the sidimatus could function as the middle- and low-class working cogs of their own planet's economy AS WELL as contribute to my army, but it seems i can't specify this much
can ONLY have them be battle thralls OR serve as ONE of the other types of slaves OR be annexed as tributaries or some other type of subject, i cannot have all three, unfortunately
ontop of that, it doesn't appear to allow me to selectively cull any of their population
either i kill none, or a extinguish them all
i see this as a mild flaw in stellaris's species/pops game mechanic
so i chose to go along with having them as battle thralls and low-class workers
but as a result, 11 of their pops (rounding it off to my personal formula of 1 pop valuing as 250 million or 333 million, that'd be 2.75 billion or 3.66 billion, somewhere between that) are unemployed on their planet
however i discovered that somewhere in the future i will happen upon the opportunity to implement "thrall-worlds" through a specific technology & planetary decision named as such
there is a current housing crisis on Xu Nur because of the aforementioned... it has caused a crimewave on the planet
i decreed for more homes to be built
in other news: there are a small percentage (1 pop) of crabs who have taken up the authoritarian ethic
