Decline II is worth seeing even if you don’t care about the bands. One of the few music films that captures a time and place in a way that is entertaining and not overly sentimental. The subjects are very shallow people, but Spheeris is able to approach them with humor and understanding. This film definitely had a huge impact on her Waynes World film, and is probably the only reason that film really works.
