I'm thinking I'm thinking, got some primer and spray paint at the very least if not some spare pieces of wood to tack on to an existing chassis so I could try to do some of it myself.

It would certainly go well with one the lamps, though it might be wise to limit that to legs if the case has those. The other choice is just going with whatever beige box you can find (I'm personally a fan of having front bays of both sizes) or repainting a black box into beige with some little nick-knacks attached. Would probably go just as well with this desk if it sat next to it or on top of it.
