Oh yeah it addresses finite spawns of crafting materials for highly desireable accessories, like the Terraspark Boots.
Good for multi-player maps where there's not enough in the map to go around.
Also good if you make active use of the Loadouts feature to swap between 2 or 3 equipment sets. I usually have a melee set on 1st, mining set on 2nd, and fishing set on 3rd.
