>The definitive "what went wrong"
You could say it was inevitable seeing MDE's combination of personalities.
The only functional dynamic would be MDE as a duo of Nick and Charls with Sam as the MDE equivalent of Jet Neptune.
Involved in everything and not hidden behind scenes but clearly not billed as the main draw.
However what we got was
>Nick the disorganized comedic savant
>Charls the artistic voice of MDE
>Sam the unapologetic face and promoter of MDE
Sam's contributions in terms of skits and writing in retropect wasn't all that positive since they've always been hit or miss and during the split you could really start to get a feeling of who was the brain child of which skits.
Charls and Nick's humor and contributions made up almost every single one of their best hits.
Yet due to the nature of their dynamic, Sam of course would see himself as the front man and so would the fans and being who he was, he was always going to self destruct everything they have. His saving grace and his biggest contribution to MDE was his overwhelming lust for attention and his histrionics were only going to blow the thing they built up sooner or later.
The most anyone could hope for is for the other two to be established for long enough that they could just seperate from his antics and survive the fallout of MDE but it happened during MDE's gestation period.
Sam basically aborted. It wasn't even in it's infancy when he killed it.
Is Sam funny? Sometimes, in certain contexts. But he's really not a comedian. He's just like Frank Hassle. He can make comedy out of tormenting someone but he can't actually himself be funny and doesn't have a good eye for what is actually funny.
The only people who will receive this truth and wisdom are the people not brain fried enough to be filtered by a few paragraphs of text. IE: Not a single Sam fan.
