Bit late, I don't have schizophrenia and took the gamble and bought the artist pro 24 second hand on eBay for $250 in pretty damn good condition, the seller was even kind enough to throw in remote for free. Been using it daily for a month and a half now and it's OK to draw on. I upgraded from a Cintiq 13HD and while the bigger space was a crucial upgrade, the pen isn't anywhere near as responsive/precise as wacom (and the 13HD model is well over a decade old), it still gets the job done and that's all that matters I guess.
Pen pressure definitely needs reconfiguring unless you're heavy handed while drawing (the default settings hardly pick up light strokes)
Overall it's usable, I haven't run into any of the issues the webms show. If you're autistic about muh precision then just save for a wacom, preferably a somewhat larger size like a 22in or you'll be dealing with back pain from working in a cramped screen. Hope this helps
