Can't say I blame you, seeing Victini Z-Celebrate Stored Power sets on low to mid ladder pissed me off something fierce, having to face the same dumb rain teams dropping Waterium-Z nukes off of Scald was retarded, Ash Grenigger, Kartana and Blacephalon nuking everything was not fun either.

Dude, gen 1 and 2 are just frustrating and having to bend my own expectations, likes and patience to try and getting accustomed to two formats that are blatantly awful in their own ways is just not something I or most others are willing to do, I am willing to dedication so much autistic attention to any given thing before it becomes a hassle and I don't want to deal with it anymore, gen 1 status, crit and other bullshit mechanics are no fun to have to deal with, if a game at any point becomes almost solely based on abusing luck based shittery, it is not good. The only interesting aspects of gen 1 is how odd it is and the bizarre mechanics that make it seemingly charming at a surface level glance. Gen 2 is just a grindfest, it's like WW1 made into Pokemon, every army is issued a powerful weapon (a tank) they have to protect at all costs as a win condition in Snorlax, every aspect of the meta revolves around Snorlax to some extent and it's groupies, you can make large and explosively plays at times, but things will typically remain a grindfest with both sides taking potshots on occasion while both fester in the trenches.

I am thankful you never had the displeasure of seeing the chats on smogon, it's a literal communist shithole filled with creatures to pathetic and obnoxious that they make /vp/ seem like a nice place by comparison, OU chat a few years back was filled with nothing but talk about libshit politics.
