I think IQ is directly correlated with how autism affects you. I suspect everyone in my maternal grandmother's family is autistic since my mom's cousins are all extremely autistic or non verbal autistic and her uncles are all weirdos as well, like psych ward type of weirdo. The uncles that married never worked as well and they all had wives financially support them.
Now my maternal grandfather was also definetly autistic but he clearly had a high IQ, my two maternal aunts are also high IQ and autistic, my cousins are all autists with high IQ as well, everyone being high functional typical aspergers but everyone from the other part of the family ended up being level 3 autistic
